on lesson 5 Día Tres it says to listen to track 8 and listen p 41 but that is the next lesson on Barrons is that an error or did you intend for us to listen to the next story

Great observation! Yes - you'll notice as we get further into your Spanish course, I do this thing where I peek ahead, let you sort of just get a little exposure to a new concept without any responsibility to memorize or comprehend... so that when you ARE in that lesson, it feels just a bit easier as your language ability snowballs.

I don't have my guide book in front of me right now, but I don't believe it has exercises from that page listed, does it? - Just listen? Each assignment is specifically listed, so you don't have to guess.

no mean it makes me read out specific parts of the passage and speak which one is correct and stuff like that in the actual audio file 8

Yes, please follow along with the instructions and speak and repeat. You have to learn it the way you hope to use it - without speaking, you'll never learn to speak! :-)
